Margarita cocktail with prosecco

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 15 limes) + wedges for serving
  • 1 cup blanco tequila, or to taste
  • 0.5 cups Cointreau
  • 0.5 cup sugar syrup, or to taste
  • Coarse salt, for the rim
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) Prosecco, chilled

Preparation:

  1. Combine lime juice, tequila, Cointreau, and simple syrup in a pitcher. Stir well.
  2. Spread a layer of salt on a shallow plate. Wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge and dip it in the salt. Swirl the glass to completely coat the wet part of the rim. Repeat this process for the remaining glasses.
  3. Fill the glasses with ice, then fill them halfway with the tequila and lime mixture. Top each glass with Prosecco, garnish with lime wedges, and serve.

Simple sugar syrup: Mix equal parts sugar and water and heat until the sugar dissolves, then cool.
