Boiled new potatoes with butter

Ingredients:

  • 450 g small new potatoes
  • 1 head of garlic, cut in half horizontally
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 2 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Preparation:

  1. Wash the potatoes well.
  2. Place the potatoes, garlic, bay leaf and peppercorns in a large saucepan, cover with cold water to a level of about 2 cm and season generously with salt.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork, about 5-8 minutes depending on size.
  5. Drain and discard the garlic, bay leaf, and peppercorns. Cut the potatoes in half if they are large, toss with butter, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
