Grilled Orange Soda topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 20 large Navelina oranges
- 5 teaspoons of sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 3 tablespoons of hot water
- Carbonated water, for serving
Preparation:
- Cut all the oranges in half and sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of sugar on each.
- Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and grill the oranges, cut-side down, in several batches until they are a rich, dark brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Let the oranges cool completely.
- Juice the oranges. Mix the turmeric with hot water in a small bowl to dissolve the turmeric. Add to the orange juice and stir.
- Add ice to a glass and fill three-quarters full with turmeric-infused orange juice. Top off the glass with soda water.
