Ingredients:
- 3 cups strawberries, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation:
- In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, until the berries are softened. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Strain the strawberries through a fine sieve into a bowl and cool completely. If you want to store this sauce, cover and refrigerate it. It will keep for up to 4 days.
