Chicken Donuts on Sticks topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 package (280 g) of yellow Candy Melts
- 2 tsp. confectionery fat
- 12 doughnut holes with baking powder
- Yellow sprinkles, for decoration
- 1/4 cup dark brown candy melts
- 1/4 cup orange candy melts
Preparation:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Microwave the yellow candies with shortening in 30-second intervals, stirring, until melted. Dip the tips of 12 lollipop sticks into the yellow icing, then insert each stick into a donut hole. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate until completely set, about 5 minutes.
- Dip each donut into the yellow glaze to coat completely, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl, and return the donuts to the baking sheet. Microwave the yellow glaze if it thickens too much. Let the glazed donuts set for about 15 minutes.
- Transfer the remaining yellow frosting to a small zip-lock plastic bag (remelt it if necessary). Snip off the corner. Pipe a dot on the top of each donut and sprinkle with yellow sprinkles to create feathers. Make small squiggles on the sides to create wings.
- Microwave the brown and orange candies in separate small bowls in 15-second intervals, stirring until melted. Divide into separate small bags and snip off the corner of each. Pipe the brown icing for the chicks' eyes and the orange icing for the beaks and feet. Let the icing set for about 15 minutes.
