Grilled cheeseburgers topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1.1 kg ground beef
- Vegetable oil for greasing
- 6 slices American cheese or cheddar
- 6 sesame seed hamburger buns, cut in half horizontally
- Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, onion rings, ketchup and mustard, for serving
Preparation:
- Preheat the grill to medium heat. Divide the ground beef into 6 equal pieces and form each into a 2.5 cm thick patty. Press the center of each patty so it's slightly thinner than the edges. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper. Lightly oil the grill grate.
- Grill the patties, turning once, until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side, topping with a slice of cheese a few minutes before done. Lightly brush the buns with oil and grill until golden brown. Place the patties on the bottom buns and top with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, then top with the bun tops. Serve with ketchup and mustard.
