Mac and Cheese Casserole in the Oven topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 450 g of pasta horns
- 5 large eggs
- 3.5 cups heavy cream
- 2.5 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 0.5 tsp ground mustard
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 450 g grated sharp cheddar
- 450 gr. whole milk mozzarella, grated
- 450 g of grated Gouda
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 190°C. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the pasta according to package directions, 3 minutes less than directed. Drain and rinse under cold water until completely cool; drain thoroughly. Return the pasta to the pot.
- Place the eggs, heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, ground mustard, nutmeg, and a large pinch of salt in a medium bowl and whisk to combine. Pour the mixture over the pasta and toss to coat evenly.
- Combine the cheddar, mozzarella, and Gouda in a large bowl. Add the cheeses to the pan and toss to distribute evenly. Transfer the mac and cheese to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake until set in the center and golden brown on top, 60-70 minutes. Let cool for about 10 minutes and serve.
