Granita with cappuccino flavor and coffee liqueur

Ingredients:

  • 450 ml of hot strong coffee
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp coffee liqueur, such as Kahlua, plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon + extra for sprinkling
  • To serve: fresh whipped cream or marshmallow glaze, dark cocoa powder

Preparation:

  1. Add sugar to the coffee, stirring until dissolved. Stir in cream, liqueur, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  2. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe baking dish. Freeze for 2 hours, then remove and scrape the mixture with a fork. Continue scraping the granita every hour for 4-6 hours.
  3. Divide the granita among 4 bowls or glasses. You can add a few drops of liqueur. Garnish with whipped cream or marshmallows and sprinkle with dark cocoa powder and cinnamon.
