Breakfast buns with honey mustard butter

Ingredients:

    Biscuits

  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/3 cup mixture of grated Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
  • 3 slices of ham, cut into pieces
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, slightly frozen
  • 1 cup of sour milk or kefir
  • Premium flour for working with dough
  • Cooking spray to spray pan, optional

    Butter

  • 110 g softened butter
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tbsp. grainy mustard
  • Blackberry or raspberry jam, for serving

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. BunsPlace self-raising flour in a large bowl and stir in the cheese and ham. Add the butter and rub in.
  3. Pour in the sour milk and gently stir with a wooden spoon. Once the dough is smooth, turn it out onto a floured surface, divide it into 8 equal balls, and press lightly.
  4. Place the balls in a cast-iron pan or on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes.
  5. ButterIn a bowl, mix the butter with honey and mustard. When the buns are done, brush the tops with a little butter. Serve with the remaining butter and jam.
