topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

    Spread

  • Neutral vegetable oil, for frying
  • 2 jalapeño peppers
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream cheese with green onions

    Hot dogs

  • 4 beef sausages
  • 4 hot dog buns, split on top (preferably with sesame or poppy seeds), toasted
  • 170g nacho cheese sauce, warmed
  • 1/2 cup chopped store-bought deep-fried jalapeño or onion

Preparation:

  1. Spread:

Pour about 2 inches of oil into a small saucepan and line a plate with paper towels. Heat the oil over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, then add the jalapeños. Cook until the jalapeños begin to shrivel and the thin outer skin begins to separate, about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the peppers and transfer to a paper-lined plate. Let cool slightly, then finely chop, removing the seeds if you want to tone down the heat. In a bowl, combine the cream cheese and jalapeño. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Hot dogs:

Fry the sausages in the same oil until they are puffed and blistered, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a parchment-lined plate.
  4. Spread the inside edges of warm hot dog buns with cream cheese spread, add a hot dog, and drizzle with cheese sauce. Top with sliced fried jalapeños.
