Chocolate Banana Oatmeal with Nuts

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 2 ripe large bananas (cut 1.5 bananas into cubes and cut half into thin slices)
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp. l. honey or agave nectar
  • 1/3 cup toasted and chopped walnuts
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate granules

Preparation:

  1. In a large saucepan, combine almond milk, 1 3/4 cups water, diced bananas, almonds, and a pinch of salt and bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Add the oats, cocoa powder, and 1 tablespoon of honey and reduce heat to medium. Cook, stirring frequently, until the porridge is fully cooked or reaches the desired consistency, 6-7 minutes.
  3. Divide the porridge among 4 bowls, top with sliced ​​bananas, walnuts, the remaining 1 tablespoon honey, cinnamon, and chocolate chips, and serve.
