Bread with ham and cheese topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf (450 g) frozen bread dough
- Premium flour for working with dough
- 220 g thin slices of ham
- 220 g of grated Irish Cheddar or other white Cheddar
Preparation:
- Defrost the dough overnight in the refrigerator, then bring it to room temperature (but do not let it rise) before working with it.
- Preheat oven to 160°C. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.
- On a lightly floured work surface, roll the dough into a 22 x 30 cm rectangle. If the dough springs back as you roll it, cover it with a dry towel and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Place the ham slices on the dough, leaving 0.5 cm from the edges on all sides. Sprinkle with cheese and roll into a tight roll, pinching the seam and tucking the ends to completely seal the filling inside.
- Place the roll, seam side down, in the prepared loaf pan and bake until golden brown and set to an internal temperature of 95°C (205°F), 50 minutes to 1 hour.
Let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes. Remove from the pan. Slice and serve.
