Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • 200 g frozen puff pastry, defrosted in the refrigerator
  • 2 sour apples
  • 65 gr. brown sugar
  • 40 ml of 10% cream

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 24-cm square, about 0.5 cm thick, trimming the edges if necessary to make them more even. Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet, prick with a fork, and chill while you prepare the apples.
  3. Peel the apples and use a peeler to remove the cores, leaving the apples whole. Use a grater or hand to thinly slice the apples into rounds.
  4. Arrange the apple slices in three layers on top of the dough, sprinkle with brown sugar, and carefully drizzle with cream. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the dough and apples are golden brown.
  5. Serve the pie warm or at room temperature, and top it with a scoop of ice cream.
