Turkish almond cookies - Acibadem kurabiyesi topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- Almond flour – 250 grams
- Granulated sugar - 375 grams
- Egg white - 200 grams
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Almond flavoring - 1 drop (optional)
Preparation:
- In a medium saucepan, combine almond flour, powdered sugar, and egg whites. Whisk thoroughly.
- Place the pan over low heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour in the lemon juice, remove from heat, and stir with a soft spatula until the dough cools.
- Set aside and let cool to room temperature.
- Take a baking tray and line it with baking paper.
- Using a paper envelope, form the dough into round cookies with a diameter of 5-6 cm, leaving a gap of 3-4 cm between them. You can place a whole almond kernel on top.
- Preheat the oven to 130°C (250°F) and bake the almond cookies on a baking sheet for 30 minutes. Monitor them closely during the last 10 minutes to ensure they're done. As noted above, the cookies shouldn't be too dark.
- Remove the finished product directly on the baking paper and place it on a damp, cool towel, which will allow it to be easily separated from the paper.
Serve the cookies on a serving platter.
