Brazilian Truffles "Brigadeiro" topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 400 gr. condensed milk with sugar
- 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, plus more for greasing your hands
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp fine salt
- Chocolate granules for rolling
- Multicolored confectionery sprinkles for rolling
Preparation:
- In a small saucepan, combine the condensed milk, butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue stirring for about 8 minutes, until the mixture thickens, being careful not to let it stick to the bottom. Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until completely chilled, about 2 hours.
- Lightly grease your hands with butter. Using a tablespoon or small scoop, scoop out a small amount of the truffle mixture and roll it into a small ball with your hands, just big enough to put in your mouth. Roll the truffle in one of the crumbles and place it on a plate. Repeat with the remaining chocolate mixture. Store the truffles in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
