Simple Turkey Meatloaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of ground turkey breast
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cups skim milk
  • 1 medium onion
  • 0.5 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 250 g tomato sauce

Preparation:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the oats and milk. Thinly slice 1/4 of the onion. Finely chop the remaining onion.

    In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, oatmeal mixture, chopped onion, bell pepper, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, salt, and a few pinches of ground pepper. Mix until smooth.
  2. Preheat oven to 170°C.

    Place the mixture into a 23cm x 33cm baking dish and shape it into a loaf 13cm wide and 6.5cm high. Pour tomato sauce and sprinkle with onion slices.
  3. Bake for 1 hour or until a thermometer reads 160°F (70°C). Remove from the oven and let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

    Recipe Turkey meatloaf, the minced meat is supplemented with vegetables, garlic and cheese.

    Chardonnay wine is recommended with this dish.
