Hamburgers with bacon patty and barbecue sauce topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 450 g ground beef from the sirloin
- 12 small buns, pre-cut
- 450 g chopped bacon (pork belly)
- 1/2 chopped onion
- 1 tbsp. breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated mature cheddar cheese
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce and a little more for serving
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
- Special spray for lubrication
- Salted butter for buns
- Slices pickled cucumbers, for decoration
Preparation:
- Fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Reserve one tablespoon of rendered fat in the pan and discard the rest. Add the onion and sauté until tender, about 8 minutes. Let the onion cool.
- Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius. In a large bowl, combine bacon, onion, ground beef, cheddar cheese, eggs, 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce and parsley, season with salt and pepper, and mix with your hands until smooth.
- Take a muffin tin (12 cups), grease it with oil, you can use a special spray.
Fill each cavity with minced meat, filling it to the very top. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of barbecue sauce on each "muffin." Bake for 12-15 minutes, until cooked through. Let cool in the pan.
- Meanwhile, butter the cut buns and toast them cut side down in a skillet over medium heat.
Make burgers by placing bacon patties on buns and topping with pickles. Serve with the remaining barbecue sauce.
